Calculation in Place Value Systems

This calculator allows to perform the four basic arithmetic operations in place value systems with any base between 2 and 16. It calculates on integer numbers, remainders are truncated.

The buttons Clear Entry and All Clear clear the last input or all inputs.

You can enter your data with the mouse or the keyboard and the rules of algebraic hierarchy are valid.

The second display allows to watch the results in another base, usually decimal.

Example:

With base 2 is   100100 + 1100 = 110000 .

With base 10   (1·32 + 1·4) + (1·8 + 1·4) = (1·32 + 1·16)   oder   32 + 16 = 48 .

With base 16 the result is  30  , because of  3·16 + 0·1 = 48 .
